Tomato Chutney (Restaurant style)



Ingredients:

Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Methi seeds - 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves - 8 leaves
hing - 1/2 tspOnion - Medium sized 2 (sliced)
Tomato - Medium sized 8
Green chilly - 3 small
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Salt - as needed
Sugar - a pinch

For Seasoning:

Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Whole dry red chilli - 2

Preparation:

1. Heat oil in a pan
2. Add cumin seeds, methi seeds and once popped and methi turns light brown, add the sliced onions, green chillies and curry leaves.
3. Saute until onion turns golden brown.
4. Now add turmeric and chilli powder and saute until the raw smell of the chilli powder disappears.
5. Add chopped tomatoes, salt and sugar. Cook in medium flame and once the tomatoes are cooked completely, turn off the flame and let it cool.
6. Grind this into a fine paste.

Season this with the given seasoning ingredients.

Good to have with Idly, Dosa and Vada.
