Meal maker (Soya) fry

When I was in Bangalore, I went to a temple. On the way to exit, I have seen a lady, preparing and selling something, which the flavour of that gave us mouth watering sense. So we bought that and had. It looked like chicken fry. But we know, they won't sell chicken inside a temple. After tasting, we realised its a meal maker fry. Along with that, she gave us some chopped raw onions and tomato sauce as a side dish. It tasted really good. From the taste of the recipe I guessed the ingredients and the very next day, I tried this at home for the evening snack. Came out well. You can also try this. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients:

Meal maker (soya) 1 cup
ginger garlic paste 1 tsp.
salt
red chillie powder 2 tsp.
garam masala 1 tsp.
oil for frying

Method:

1. Soak the meal maker for 1 hour. Squeeze the water from the soya and place it in a bowl. Cut all the soya into half.

2. To this add, ginger garlic paste, red chillie powder, salt and garam masala and leave for about 10 mins.

3. In a kadai add about 6 tbsp. of oil. Once the oil is hot add the soya into the oil and stir with a spatula.

4. Fry till the soya is half crispy. Transfer to a serving bowl. Serve with chopped raw onions and tomato sauce.
