Tomato rasam


Ingredients:

tomatoes 3
pepper powder 1 tsp.
turmeric powder 1/4tsp.
cumin powder 1/2tsp.
methi seeds powder 1/2tsp.
hing 1/2tsp.
salt
tamarind water very diluted 1/2 cup
chillie powder 1/4tsp.
mustard
curry leaves
coriander leaves for garnishing

Method:

1. Make a fine paste of tomatoes.

2. Heat 2 tsp. of oil in a kadai and season with mustard and curry leaves. Pour the tomato paste to this.

3. Add turmeric powder, chillie powder, pepper powder, cumin powder, methi powder and hing to the paste and stir well till oil separates from the tomato.

4. Add little the tamarind water to this and stir and then pour the full tamarind water so that no lumps are formed.

5. Add salt and stir well. Once the rasam starts boiling garnish with coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
