Palak dal


Ingredients:

palak 1 bunch chopped
moongdal 1/2cup
onion 1 chopped
tomato 1 chopped
salt
coconut 1/2cup
turmeric powder 1/2tsp
chillie powder 1/2tsp
cumin seeds 1/2tsp
garlic 2 cloves

Method:

1. Heat a kadai and fry moong dal till brown. Add water to this and cook. When it is half cooked add chopped palak and salt and cook.

2. In a separate kadai heat oil and add mustard. Once it crackles add curry leaves. Add chopped onion and saute. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute again. Add this to the cooking palak dal. Stir well.

3. In a blender grind coconut, turmeric powder, chillie powder, cumin seeds and garlic to a paste.

4. Once the palak got cooked add this coconut paste and stir well. Cook for 2 mins.

Serve with rice or chappathi.
