Gun powder/ Idly chutney powder


Ingredients:

channa dal 1cup
urad dal 1 cup
red dry chillie 1 cup (by pressing)
garlic 10 cloves (along with peel)
hing little
curry leaves 1/2handful
sesame seeds 1tsp.(optional. But if added, gives a nice aroma)
salt 3 tsp.

Method:

1. Heat 1tsp. oil in a kadai and add all the ingredients and stir with a spatula till the ingredients become a light brown colour and crispy. Fry in a medium flame.

2. Allow it to cool and make it to a powder in a blender.

This is a nice sidedish for idly, thosa, coconut puttu. For office going people this readymade chutney helps, when they are in a hurry.
