Dal coconut kuzhambu


Ingredients:

Toor dal 1 cup
salt
coconut oil 1tsp.
coconut grated 1/4cup
turmeric powder a pinch
chillie powder 1/2tsp.
cumin seeds a pinch
garlic 1 clove
cumin powder 1/2tsp.

Method:

1. Pressure cook dal and smash it.

2. In a blender grind coconut, turmeric powder, chillie powder, cumin seeds and garlic to a paste.

3. Add the coconut to dal and add salt, hing and cumin powder and stir well.

4. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard and once the mustard crackles add curry leaves and the dal mixture.

5. Add salt and stir well. Allow to boil. Once it starts boiling add a teaspoon of coconut oil.

6. Turn off the flame and serve with rice.
