Coconut masala gravy


Ingredients:

coconut grated 1 cup
onion chopped 1
tomatoes chopped 2
mustard
curry leaves
chillie powder 1tsp.
masala powder 1tsp.


Method:

1. Heat oil in a pan and add the grated coconut, little chopped onion and little curry leaves and saute till pale brown.

2. Now add chillie powder and masala powder to this and saute till raw smell of the powders disappear.

3. Turn off the flame. Make this coconut mixture to a fine paste. Keep aside.

4. Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard and curry leaves. Then add the remaining chopped onions and saute for 1min.

5. Then add chopped tomatoes to this and saute again.

6. Add water and salt to this and let it cook for 2 mins.

7. Add the coconut paste to this and stir well. Add water if necessary.

8. Serve hot with idly or thosa.
