Lemon rasam


Ingredients:

lemon 2
pepper corns 1 tbsp.
cumin seeds 1 tsp.
garlic cloves 3
tomatoes 1 chopped
coriander leaves chopped
curry leaves chopped
turmeric powder 1/4 tsp.
chillie powder 1 tsp.

Method:

1. In a blender add pepper corns, cumin seeds, garlic and grind coarsely.

2. Take a bowl of water. To this add the mixture in the blender, chopped tomatoes, coriander leaves and curry leaves and mix well with hand. (Add little chillie powder if you want the rasam to be spicy)

3. Add salt, turmeric powder and asfoetida powder to this and heat.

4. Cut 2 lemons. Once the rasam starts boiling squeeze the lemons and switch off the flame immediately.

5. Serve with rice. Instead of tamarind water we have added lemon juice here. Lemon is rich in vitamin C and so it is good for health also the aroma of lemon adds a nice taste to rasam.
