Eriseri - Kerala cuisine


Ingredients:

yam 1/2kg
moong dal 2 tsp.
salt
grated coconut 1 cup
pepper corns 1 tsp
jeera 1/2 tsp.
coconut oil 1 tble sp.
mustard
urad dal
red chillie 2
curry leaves
garlic cloves 5
jaggery a small piece
cumin powder 1/2 tsp.
pepper powder optional


Method:

1. Pressure cook moong dal, yam and salt and keep aside.

2. Blend grated coconut, pepper corns and jeera in a blender coarsely.

3. Heat coconut oil in a kadai and add mustard and urad dal. Once the mustard got crackled add red chillie and curry leaves.

4. Crush 5 garlic cloves and add to this and saute.

5. Now add the blended coconut to this and saute for 2 mins.

6. To this add the cooked yam and moong dal mixture and mix well.

7. Add little jaggery and cumin powder to this and mix.

(You can add more pepper powder before adding jaggery and saute for a min, if you want this receipe to be more spicy)
